A world of perplexity and complexity

I understand the idea behind postmodern poetry just not the execution or dissecting of it.

Postmodern poetry uses these themes
1. iconoclasm
2. formlessness
3. groundlessness
4. populism

It seems to mainly focus on the language rather than the content, or maybe I just think that because I'm too caught up in the language to understand to the content.
What I mean to say is this; I've been browsing through these poets all night, and I do not understand a single fucking point they are trying to make. I feel like I'm illiterate or even...STUPID! oh god oh god. *breathes into a bag* not stupid. please, not stupid...

I SORT OF understood this poem.

I started to recognize a pattern to her verse. Just barely.

This mother fucker; however, Jim Rosenberg, put my brain in a blender. If you can unravel this enigma, I will buy you lunch.

These writers are edgy and make me feel lame and conventional.

Here's a new one I wrote when I got back from kansas. Don't worry. It makes sense.

First Morning

Tell the thick
leaved trees
to hush
for the mourning dove.

Save the vibration
of powerlines
and stop the garbage can lid
in its clanging descent.

For a moment,
praise the first red light
on the horizon
and forget about
recipes in old books
with worn bindings.

Watch the bird
rustle her oily wings
then rest on
your front stoop.

Halt all movement
and let this ripple
in your chest like thunder
because like you,
She was born
in this hour
full of song
and ready.
