Occupy Wichita

I thought today was very moving. I felt at home among the many teachers and students in attendance.
The best way I can describe this grass roots movement is this; we are the liberal response to the tea party. What we are doing is showing Wichita, and the rest of the Midwest, that we can thrive as a collective community that cares about one another as individuals (regardless of background, income, education, etc), that we can show our solidarity for #Occupy Wall Street though we are hundreds of miles away, that we can unite and become a powerful force, that we can be the change that no politician will grant us, that we can bring democracy back to its humble roots.

It is our duty to keep gathering and sharing ideas so that we can grow in numbers until the bureaucracy has to recognize us and respond. We need to have a dialogue with one another, and I think the internet is a great way to start that. It's very hard for 50-100 people to sit in a circle and have a conversation. So, this space will be open to throw around ideas.

If this isn't enough space for dialogue, perhaps I can make a new blog completely dedicated to Occupy Wichita.

*This is a safe corner of the internet, so please be conscious of the weight of your own words.*

First, revolutions are ignored.

This is just the beginning.

p.s I'd like to get to know you all personally, eventually. Oh, what a task in itself!

Well. Im Mack! Local student at BCCC in Andover. Grew up on welfare with my 3 other siblings and mom. Tired of seeing a small percent of people in our country thriving off of the rest of us. Im ready to pull them down!

Good to hear from you Mack. Pretty soon we will come up with common goals and see to it that they are heard.
