Bow-ties are what's good in the world. I found a way to wear this beige and purple one, and by found I mean, I just slapped it on a collared shirt, put a jacket over it, and called it a day. The great part about being Rae Hoffman? I'm like a honey badger: I don't give a shit.
OK, so awesome and slightly random news. I'm going to Israel again. I know, I know, I was JUST there. Believe me, I am grateful for how privileged I am, and I try to use my privilege only for good. I'm volunteering with Amirim, a program that allow you to be placed within a position in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem four days out of seven. I'm obviously staying in Bat Yam, so I can visit my brother as often as possible. It's also high time that I visit some cousins and an aunt, and find some other random cousins that are on this family tree I've never met. Yeah, I roll like that. "Hi, I'm Rae from America. It appears that we are cousins... Let's hang out!"
I'm going to have most weekends off, and although it's only a month-long program, I fully intend to spend more than a month over there. I've never been to Eilat. Nuff' said.
Enough. I have to still write papers and grade.

Rae, I love your wry randomness--bow ties to Israel?! Thanks for sharing.
